ジャヴェリン (駆逐艦)
ジャヴェリン (HMS Javelin, F61) は、イギリス海軍の駆逐艦。J級の一番艦である。 ジョン・ブラウン・アンド・カンパニーによりスコットランドのクライドバンクで建造された。

艦歴
1940年5月、ダイナモ作戦に参加する。「ジャヴェリン」と他の駆逐艦は「アブキール」の沈没から生存者を救助した[1][2]。
1940年11月の終わりに、「ジャヴェリン」は「ジュピター」、「ジャッカル」、「ジャージー」、および「カシミール」とともに第5駆逐艦戦隊を編成した。この時の指揮はルイス・マウントバッテンが務めた。 プリマスを出立した後、ドイツ駆逐艦「Z10ハンス・ロディ」、「Z4リヒャルト・バイツェン」、「Z20カール・ガルスター」と交戦した。「ジャヴェリン」はドイツ駆逐艦の魚雷と砲撃によってひどく損傷を受け、艦首と艦尾の両方を失った。このとき、「ジャヴェリン」の船体は元の353フィート（108 m）の長さに対しわずか155フィート（47m）であったが、何とか浮き続けており寮艦に曳航され帰港した。その後「ジャベリン」はほぼ1年間にわたり活動していない。
「ジャヴェリン」は修理からの復帰後マダガスカルへ向け出港し、1942年5月にはマダガスカルの戦いに参加した。
1942年6月にはヴィガラス作戦に参加、マルタへの補給船団を護衛するが、作戦は失敗に終わっている。撤退の際には、戦闘で大きく損傷した駆逐艦「ネスタ―」を曳航している。
1942年12月には第14駆逐艦戦隊としてイタリアの船団護衛を破壊している。
1943年1月16日、「ジャヴェリン」と駆逐艦「パケナム」はイタリアのwater stores carrier「Tanato」を沈めた[3]。1月20日、「ジャヴェリン」と駆逐艦「ケルヴィン」は掃海艇4隻、特設掃海艇3隻などからなる集団を攻撃して全滅させた[4]。1月22日、軽巡洋艦「クレオパトラ」、「ユーライアラス」と駆逐艦「ジャヴェリン」、「ジャーヴィス」、「ヌビアン」、「ケルヴィン」はズワーラ砲撃を行った[5]。
