デビュー当初は生年月日を「1992年6月13日」としていたが、現在は「1995年7月27日」と主張している[2]。これはディシャに限った話ではなく、インド映画界では30歳を超えた女優は役に恵まれる機会が少なくなるため、多くの女優が年齢を偽っていると指摘されている[2]。また、当初は名前を「Disha Patni」と名乗っていた[2]。

キャリア

2013年にミスインドのインドール代表選に出場したことがきっかけとなり、女優としてデビューする[4]。キャドバリーのキャドバリー・デイリー・ミルクの広告に起用されて注目を集め、2015年に『Loafer』で映画デビューする[5]。2016年にタイガー・シュロフと共にミュージック・ビデオに出演し、YouTubeにアップロードされた映像は1週間で3,200万回再生された[6][7]。同年に出演した『M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story』では多くの映画賞を受賞するなど高い評価を得ており[8]、インド国内のGoogleで最も検索されたボリウッド女優となった[7]。2017年には『カンフー・ヨガ』でヒロインを演じ、ジャッキー・チェンと共演した[9]。
